Fat Dissolving Preparation Advice

1. Two Weeks Before Treatment:


Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications and Supplements:

Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or other non-essential blood-thinning medications (*consult your doctor if prescribed these*).

Discontinue supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, and garlic pills, as they may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding.


Delay Aggressive Skin Treatments:

Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion on or near the treatment area to ensure the skin is calm.


Protect the Skin:

Do not expose the treatment area to tanning beds or excessive sun to prevent irritation.


2. One Week Before Treatment:


Hydrate Well:

Lemon Bottle relies on the lymphatic system to flush dissolved fat, so staying hydrated is critical for optimal results. Try to drink at least 2 litres of water daily in the week leading up to your session.


Avoid Alcohol:

Alcohol can dehydrate you and thin the blood, increasing the likelihood of bruising or swelling.


Eat a Balanced Diet:

Avoid excessive salt or processed foods that might contribute to water retention and swelling.


Plan Ahead:

As Lemon Bottle often causes less swelling than other fat dissolvers, downtime is minimal. However, minor redness or tenderness may still occur, so give yourself some flexibility.


3. Two to Three Days Before Treatment:


Discontinue Harsh Skincare Products:

Stop using products with active ingredients like retinoids, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid near the treatment area to prevent skin sensitivity.


Avoid Vigorous Exercise:

High-intensity workouts can increase blood flow to the treatment area, which may elevate the risk of bruising.


No Hot Environments:

Avoid saunas, steam rooms, or hot baths to ensure the skin isn’t sensitised before treatment.


4. On the Day of Treatment:


Stay Well-Hydrated:

Drink at least 500ml of water in the hours leading up to your appointment to support your lymphatic system.


Keep the Area Clean:

Wash the treatment area thoroughly with a gentle cleanser, ensuring it is free from makeup, moisturisers, or oils.


Eat a Light Meal:

Having a small meal beforehand can help prevent light-headedness during the procedure.


Wear Loose Clothing:

Choose comfortable, loose-fitting clothes if the treatment area is on the body to minimise irritation post-treatment.


Arrive Calm:

Staying relaxed can reduce discomfort during the procedure.


5. Additional Preparation Notes for Lemon Bottle:


Lower Risk of Swelling:

Lemon Bottle typically causes less swelling and tenderness than other fat dissolvers, but mild inflammation is still possible.


Fewer Sessions Required:

Lemon Bottle’s concentrated formula often reduces the number of treatments needed compared to traditional products like Aqualyx®.


Lymphatic Drainage Support:

Gentle hydration and maintaining a balanced diet leading up to the treatment can further support the removal of dissolved fat.


6. Medical History:


Inform your practitioner of any allergies, medical conditions, or medications.

Pregnancy or Breastfeeding:

Lemon Bottle is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.


Skin Infections or Cold Sores:

Reschedule if you have any active infections or skin issues in the treatment area.

Fat Dissolving Aftercare Advice

Following your fat dissolving treatment, it is important to adhere to the following aftercare instructions to facilitate healing, minimise any side effects, and optimise results. 


  •  Rest and Hydrate: Rest is crucial after the treatment. Drink plenty of water to assist your body in the fat elimination process. 

  •  Avoid Strenuous Exercise: Avoid strenuous exercise or activities for the first 24-48 hours following treatment. Light walking is acceptable. 

  • No Heat Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure, hot baths, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 48 hours after the treatment. 

  • Wear Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing to avoid putting pressure on the treated areas. 

  • Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: Both alcohol and caffeine can dehydrate you and slow down the fat elimination process. Avoid them for at least 24 hours after the treatment. 

  • Report Concerns: If you experience any unusual symptoms or complications, such as severe pain, heavy swelling, or signs of infection, contact your practitioner immediately. 

  • No anti-inflammatory drugs for at least 72hours post treatment. Taking these will adverse the effects of Lemon Bottle as the process is to inflame and destroy the fat cells. If anti-inflammatory drugs are taken, this may affect the outcome.

  • Avoid touching the area of treatment for first 6/8 hours to avoid infection.

  • Gently massage the area after 8 hours to help  distribute the solution and expedite the fat dissolution process.

  • Wash area with mild soap, no exfoliation/ scrubbing the area just gentle dabbing for 3-5 days. 

  • No sun beds or spray tans for 7 days post treatment.

 

  • Use arnica cream if you feel necessary for 7 days to help reduce bruising.

  • Avoid blood thinners (ie: Aspirin or other - unless prescribed by GP, if so seek advice before having this treatment)

  • Cold compresses can help reduce swelling. 

  • Light mineral can be worn after 24hours 

  • Avoid heavy make up for 5 days post treatment.

  • No exercise for 48hours. 

  • No swimming, steam rooms or saunas for 3 days post treatment. 

Remember, individual results can vary and multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve desired results.
